Found Purple Hearts

When We Find or Receive Lost Hearts…

When we find or receive a lost Purple Heart or other medal, we scour though hundreds of records in an attempt to find the owner or their family.  The search can take anywhere from a matter of minutes to longer than a year, depending on the amount of family information made available to the public.  The more information we have about the heart initially, the easier it is for us to find the rightful owner.  Helpful information includes any information pertaining to the Veteran or his family, for example, names, past residences, year of birth, etc.  Also, the detailed circumstances on how the medal came into possesion, for example, if you bought the medal at an estate sale, the address of that sale would be very useful.

Sometimes a search can be more challenging than others.  With situations where we’ve reached a dead end, we hope you’ll help us!
