First Annual Calcutta Fundraiser Was a Great Success! February 25, 2015

On February 21, 2015, Purple Hearts Reunited hosted our First Annual Calcutta & Live Auction at 14th Star Brewery in St. Albans, Vermont.

We were so grateful to have a tremendous turnout and an overwhelming show of support for our cause. Thank you to all of you who sponsored the event with a donated item for our Calcutta or auction, those who bought a ticket and spent the afternoon with us, and all those who gave generously. We were happy to have the opportunity to get members of our Purple Hearts Reunited community together, and we are humbled by your support.

When there were only two balls left in the game, Jim Howard and Jeff Moulton were given the option to split the prize, and each received $2,500!

With this one-day event, we were able to raise a total of over $10,000 for Purple Hearts Reunited. This will allow us to return misplaced medals to approximately 10 military families in the coming months, and return valor to veterans who have served and sacrificed. We are grateful to Tenasone Investments and Dynapower, who teamed up to donate $1200 and sponsor the upcoming return of one medal.

We are already looking forward to next year’s event, and hope you will join us then. In the meantime, please stay tuned for more events and updates from Purple Hearts Reunited, and thank you for your support.

Thank you to auctioneer and Calcutta emcee Max Webster. Our gratitude as well to Ben’s Sandwiches for the donated food, DJ Morrell from JAZ Entertainment, the American Legion for their equipment, and 14th Star Brewery for hosting the event and donating proceeds from the cash bar.

In addition, we had event sponsorship from the following generous Vermont businesses:ProgramCover
