SFC Donald Thurston Kimball (SN: 31348482) was born 06 March 1925 in Greenfield, Massachusetts to James H. and Esther M. Kimball. He was inducted into the U.S. Army on 22 June 1943 and served with the 511th Parachute Infantry, 11th Airborne Division. He saw action during the Southern Philippine Campaign and was wounded on 20 April 1945 by Shrapnel to his right knee. He would survive the war and continued to serve in the armed forces through the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He would later pass on 10 April 1991.

His medals were recently rescued by Mr. John Bear from a military collector online. Together with Purple Hearts Reunited, Donald’s Wife, Son, and Daughter were located. Needless to say, they were very grateful to have these medals back.
