PVT Frank Lyman Dunnell Jr. was born 21 December 1892 in Buffalo, New York to Frank Sr. and Susette B. Barnes Dunnell.

He would go onto enlist on 27 July 1917 and was assigned to the 107th Infantry Regiment, 27th Infantry Division.  During combat operations at Mt. Kemmel on the Hindenburg Line, he was wounded in action on 02 October 1918.  He served overseas from 10 May 1918 to 23 December 1918.  He was finally separated on 02 January 1919.

He returned home from the war and was employed at the Bank of New York, New York City, NY.

The medals were found by a Mr. Leon Urbaitel many years ago at the bank.

The medal was returned to Frank’s Niece, Mrs. Frances Carlson on the Steamboat Ticonderoga at the Shelburne, VT museum.
