CPhoM Robert Clarence Veeder was a Chief Photographer’s Mate (CPhoM), U.S. Navy in Vietnam.  He was wounded on 20 September 1967.  He was a combat photographer and even had one of his Vietnam photos on the cover of Look Magazine.

He now lives in Beverly Hills, Florida with his wife Monica.  His Purple Heart certificate was found on the side of the road in Florida and a good citizen who found it mailed it to the Purple Heart Foundation, who in return forwarded it to Purple Hearts Reunited.  According to Veeder, he had not seen the certificate, which was framed and hanging on the wall, since they moved to their new home about 12 years ago.

How it ended up on the side of the road will remain a mystery, but it is now home where it belongs thanks to Purple Hearts Reunited.
