PFC Charles E. Sutton

PFC Charles E. “Buddy” Sutton was born 04 July 1921 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio to James Thomas and Elsie Vroman Sutton.  He would later enlist into the U.S. Army on 16 January 1943.  Assigned to Charlie Company, 511th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 11th Airborne Division, PFC Sutton was Killed in Action on 27 November 1944 at Leyte, in the vicinity of Lubi, Philippines.

His medal was discovered in a home in Pennsylvania and turned over the Purple Hearts Reunited to find the family.

His medal was returned to his sister (Margaret Sutton Candela) daughter, Charles niece, Mr. Anne Candela in Eastlake, Ohio.
