In January 2015, Purple Hearts Reunited assisted a Gold Star Mother in obtaining a replacement Purple Heart for her son SPC Gerald R. Jenkins. SPC Jenkins was Killed in Action in Afghanistan on 20 October 2010.

2010 was the bloodiest year of the War, and 711 U.S. and NATO soldiers sacrificed their lives. We will never forget!
